The 2025 Nantong Direct Trade Union Welder Vocational Skills Competition was successfully held at the company on November 29, 2025. Hosted by the Nantong Federation of Trade Unions and co-organized by the Trade Union of CIMC Nantong together with our company, the event gathered 25 elite welders from 7 manufacturing enterprises under the direct trade union. The participants competed on the same stage, exchanged experience through welding practice, honed their craftsmanship, and showcased the demeanour of skilled artisans.

The successful holding of this competition is a crucial measure for the company to strengthen cooperation with government and enterprises and continuously deepen the training of skilled talents. It not only provides a platform for welding technicians in the industry to exchange and display their skills, but also creates a strong learning atmosphere of competition, learning, catching up and surpassingamong welding experts within the company. In the future, the company will implement the concept of promoting learning through competitions and promoting training through competitions, injecting more impetus into improving the company's product quality and rapid development.

The opening ceremony of the competition started at 9:30 a.m. Du Zhengfang, Director of the Direct Trade Union Department of Nantong City, presided over the ceremony.

Yuan Wenqing, the chairman of the trade union of Nantong CIMC Shunda Container Co.Ltd. on behalf of the trade union of Nantong CIMC and the company, delivered a welcome speech.

Welding is key to manufacturing. It affects product quality and local industry growth. Nantong is developing fast and needs more skilled workers. This contest lets workers share skills and push local manufacturing forward.

The company sells products at home and abroad. It values skilled workers. The union holds training with special funds every year. Hosting this contest helps welders learn and grow together with other firms.

Then came the oath-taking part: The representatives of the contestants stepped onto the stage to take the oath, promising to abide by the competition rules, respect their opponents and the judges, and fully demonstrate their skills; the representatives of the judges also took the oath simultaneously, stating that they would adhere to the principles of "fairness, impartiality and openness", strictly judging according to the standards, and ensuring the credibility of the event.

Finally, Cheng Fei, a member of the Party Leadership Group and vice-chairman of the Nantong Municipal Trade Union, announced the official opening of the competition, and there was thunderous applause from the audience.

This competition closely aligns with the development of the industry and the requirements of job positions, featuring two major sections: theoretical examination and practical operation. The theoretical assessment accounts for 30% and the practical operation for 70%. The theoretical examination focuses on core contents such as welding techniques, safety regulations, and quality standards, testing the contestants' theoretical knowledge. The practical operation includes two welding methods - pick welding and overhead welding - for assessment. During the competition, the contestants remained calm and focused, meticulously performing the tasks, with sparks flying from their welding guns, demonstrating solid technical skills and excellent professional ethics.

The review team is composed of industry experts and senior technicians. According to the national vocational skills standards, they conduct a rigorous review from multiple aspects such as the appearance of weld seams, mechanical properties, and non-destructive testing to ensure the fairness and impartiality of the competition results.

Minister Du Zhengfang presented the special award to the winning contestants.

Chairman Yuan Wenqing presented the award for the second prize to the winning contestant.

Manager Tian Guoxiang presented the award for the third prize to the winning contestant.

Five participants from our company performed well. Wei Jianhua, Qi Mingming, Zhu Haiyin and Zhang Lei won second prizes. Wang Kun got a third prize. They showed the good skills of our workers.
